October 2025

Fall has arrived.  For many it is their favorite season and time of the year.  It is that time when farmers are working long, hard days to gather their crops.  Football season is in full swing.  Many people decorate their homes and yards with Fall items and colors.  Churches put on Fall Festivals to minister to their communities and share the Gospel.  Fall is a beautiful season!  It is also a reminder of the beauty, splendor, and majesty of our wonderful Creator God.  In this beautiful time of year, I see it as a gift reminding me of His awesome creation and His love and care for me.

This is also the busiest time of the year in the life of Associational Missions.  In the month of September, we opened our Hispanic church plant, JesuCristo Salva Iglesia.  It has been a blessing to see this work finally begin and to be able to worship with these sweet folks.  While we have started this much-needed work, there is still much more to do in the coming days.

Just recently, our WMU, under the leadership of Mrs. Martha Gibbs, held the WMU Annual Meeting.  It was well attended and a wonderful time of encouragement, fellowship, and inspiration.

On September 24, we had our Associational Youth Block Party.  Wow!  What a great event as we were able to serve and minister to more than 325 young people and most importantly, see 34 professions of salvation.  I am so thankful for Bro. Terry Kisor, Associational Youth Director, for his leadership.  Also, this great event would not be possible without the support of our churches and the efforts of so many who work with the youth in our churches.

In just a few days, we will be coming together at Friendship Baptist church for our 192nd Annual meeting.  Our theme for this year’s meeting is “Celebrating God’s Goodness.”  Certainly, we have much to celebrate as we come together and are reminded of what God is doing in the partnership of this association.  Bro. Mike Jackson, Associate Executive Director, Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, will be bringing us an encouraging message.  It is going to be a wonderful night as we come together for a time of  “Celebrating God’s Goodness.”  I look forward to seeing our messengers, pastors, associational leaders, and many others from our churches as we gather for this time of celebration.

Thank you to each that worked and helped in any way getting our Hispanic Mission Church ready to open!
