July 2023

In just a few days, school will start and, in many ways, will mark the unofficial end of summer.    This has been a very busy time for many of our churches.  Personally, it has been a busy season for me as your associational missionary as well.
One of the main areas of being busy has been the opportunity to serve in, provide resources, and visit the many Vacation Bible Schools across the association.  I am pleased to report that Vacation Bible School (VBS) numbers are back close to where they were prior to the pandemic.  Also, the number of churches having VBS (26 of our 35 churches) is the highest in several years.
As we turn our attention to the days ahead, they are filled with many events and activities for us to serve, beginning with our school prayer walks on August 5-6.  I cannot stress how important it is for our churches to come together and spend a brief period of time walking our school campuses and praying over them.
September 1st begins a new church year, and hopefully we will approach it with a sense of newfound excitement for the opportunities it holds.  This is also the time in which each church returns their Annual Church Profile (ACP) to the association office.  The information collected on this form gives us a better understanding of our strengths and weaknesses as we seek to reach our  communities for Christ.
September 16th is our WMU Annual Meeting.  This is always a great meeting filled with fun, good food, fellowship, and great inspiration.
Finally, on September 27th, we will have our Youth Block Party.  We restarted this event last year, and it was a huge success.
So, let us pray, prepare our hearts, and participate in the good work that God is doing in our churches and through this association.
I am always humbled by your support and partnership as I serve our wonderful Savior with you.
